Solar Energy Usage

A Photovoltaic Solar System 2.1 Kw system has been installed at Don Bosco Youth Hostel. The Australian Government provided a Grant of 50% towards the cost of installation through the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts. The aim of the Programme is to increase awareness of renewable energy and reduce greenhouse emissions.

Three Solar Hot Water Units have been installed at the same Hostel offering 70 – 80% reduction in gas usage. This green house project was funded by The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide Charitable Trust.
